demand immediate change in the Polish FA and the Polish football

Tomasz Lipiec, Poland's Minister of Sport

Sir, The Failure of the Polish national football performance at the World Cup 2006 was a frustrating for countless fans in Poland. Our frustration is not bound by the outcome - defeat in competitive sports is not a reason to be ashamed of - but with a sense of helplessness. Powerless over the collapse of Polish football, which lasted for many years, which reflect the performances of the national team at the world championships in Germany and in Korea four years ago, but also shameful, annual defeat in European club competitions. We believe that the Polish Football Association bears a very large extent responsible for this state of affairs. Writing to you as soon as possible to start actions to remedy the situation in the Polish football. We believe that it requires to bring about immediate changes to personal information in the Polish Football Association, including the cancellation of its President, as well as changes in the way of the Union. Future PZPN authorities must be periodically cleared for specific, measurable objectives, such as the introduction of modern methods of training, talent selection system, organization of training centers for children and young people, etc. An important role is also the government, which should facilitate the development of mass sports - including amateur football - in Poland. Football - excellent spectacle and a source of excitement for millions of people - can not exist without the fans. Footballers, clubs and live and prosper PZPN only by us, the fans. We hope that many signatures on this petition will help you in the beginning of renewal of Polish football.

Sincerely, Friends of Polish football June 22, 2006

Wording For Home Depot Registry

Lithuania, Kaunas/Kowno 1987,1988,1990

One of the most popular Lithuanian rock bands ever, ANTIS began as a New Year party joke. Back in 1984, a young architect Algirdas ‘Pablo’ Kaušpėdas was working as the chairman of the Kaunas architects' union. He had to organise a New Year party at the city union’s hall and decided that the best thing would be to form a band and play some music. The joke proved to be so good, that rumors about the new exciting band spread all over the country.
At the very beginning of 1986 ANTIS was joined by the horn section from Vilnius. Fellow architect / composer / trumpeter / guitarist Petras ‘Sniegius’ Ubartas took over the musical leadership of the band so Pablo could concentrate on lyrics and create charismatic images for himself and the band. Soon ANTIS (Duck in Lithuanian means also false mass media sensation) was invited to play at the semi-underground festival in Vilnius University and a couple of other similar gigs. But the turning point of ANTIS career was legendary Lituanica’86 festival, where ANTIS for the first time played in front of the elite audience, composed of the local and guest musicians, official and underground journalists, hardcore music fans and so on. Their show overshadowed Russian rock stars Aquarium and Bravo who were supposed to be the biggest attractions of the festival. Overnight ANTIS turned to the biggest sensation in Lithuania and one of the best rock bands in the whole of the former Soviet Union.
Algirdas ‘Pablo’ Kaušpėdas built ANTIS a spectacular live show featuring painted faces, musicians dressed in suits and various gadgetry including anything from red slogans to motorbikes and spaceship models on the stage. All this stage extravaganza was used for production of 3 video clips, later included in the 1986 musical film Kažkas Atsitiko (Something Happened). But probably the main thing was the lyrics. In-your-face uncompromising criticism of the Soviet regime was very timely during the Perestroyka years. Following the changes of their status ANTIS leaders consequently improved the line-up until it became a perfect professional machine. From the musical side ANTIS started under the heavy influence of Talking Heads and other new wave bands - one of their biggest hits was cover version of Men At Work song. Lately Sniegius and horns added a lot of Zappa - like structures, but at the end of their career the music became too complicated and professional to compare with the lively DIY/punk spirit of the early days of ANTIS.
In the highest times of Sąjūdis ANTIS staged a number of massive concerts, played to crowds of hundreds of thousands of people. They toured throughout almost all the European countries and the USA. ANTIS history is well documented, because the band used every possible occasion to record their music, be it in the studio or at a gig. So the first live-in-the-studio recording was made during the Kažkas Atsitiko soundtrack recording sessions. In the end of 1986 the local Melodya branch invited ANTIS to its Vilnius studio where the band recorded their eponymous debut album. The LP was released in 1987 and became one of the best-sold records in the history of Lithuanian show business.
The second album was recorded in 1988 in Warsaw’s CCS studio and was supposed to be released as an independent LP. But Melodya’s resistance to press the records significantly delayed and finally ruined the plan. The fight took almost a year, so it was decided to record some new material. The last recording session took place in a Vilnius studio in 1988. Those songs with some selected numbers from the ‘Polish’ session appeared as Anties Dovanėlė (Antis' Prezzie) in 1989. In fact it became their farewell present.
The second half of 1989 and 1990 brought the final series of tours including the appearances at prestigious festivals in Italy, Austria, Germany, France and USA, where they participated at the NY New Music Seminar and played at the CBGB.
In 1990 Pablo decided to quit and became Algirdas Kaušpėdas again. He briefly tried a political career, but soon returned to his profession of architecture. The rest of the band kept on rehearsing and even tried a couple of new vocalists. They composed some music, but without the vocalist/frontman it had no real sense, so ANTIS split. Some of the musicians returned to non-musical jobs, some still play. Algirdas Kaušpėdas runs a big design company and is still a very popular figure in Lithuanian musical and cultural life.
In 1994 Zona/BMK released two ANTIS cassettes. Mini album Bjaurioji Antis (Ugly Antis) features the earliest punkish home made recordings from Kaunas period, when they played without horns. Retas Paukštis (Rare Bird) brings all the songs which haven’t appeared on Melodya albums. The last album Geriausios Dainos is ‘the best of’ compilation, released on both CD and MC formats by Zona/BMK in the May of 1995. On this release are all the most popular and the most interesting songs of ANTIS, which makes it probably the most recommended and valued item.
Reanimated in 1996, the Lithuanian Rock March witnessed a kind of Antis reunion. The March staged three open-air concerts in three biggest Lithuanian cities during the last week of the Summer 1996. Assembled from some ex-members and some session musicians but fronted by Algirdas Kaušpėdas, the Antis Orchestra played a series of spectacular sets during Rock March concerts.
One more ANTIS transient revival took place in the end of 2003.
Zona Records released almost all their extant recordings on 4 CDs (Kažkas atsitiko, Antis, Ša! and Dovanėlė) and in a box-set Visa Antis. Close to classical line-up of the band got together to celebrate this occasion. Promotional campaign Visada Antis (Antis Forever) consisted of small exclusive gig at Galaxy Club, unplugged-style appearance on LNK TV and full-scale ANTIS extravaganza in Vilnius Concerts and Sports Palace.

Piske s Shoes-squeak (1992)

Tjekkiet, Prague / Prague 1992

Buty (shoes) are one of the most popular Czech groups.Founded in 1986 as a fussion of U238 and B komplex, who were underground acts,Buty were able to gain huge popularity in Czech Republic, and won some fans abroad(Poland,Slovakia).
In their musical creation, Buty go through various genres such as folk, ethnic, jazz, reggae, which adding their witty lyrics makes pretty explosive mixture.
Pískej si pískej, Buty's debut album reveals some light, humorous tunes with unforgettable highlits like Divny Host,Cuprnajka and the bands biggest hit Vrana, which were very popular also in Poland.I highly reccomend this album, but watch out, it's very addictive!

Czeslaw Niemen Terra Deflorata (1989)

Belarus, Stare Wasiliszki/Poland, Warsaw/Warszawa 1989

Czeslaw Niemen has radically changed his music over the years. From easy accessible pop in the sixties, to jazz-soul-rock, to pure avant-garde, to straight fusion, to all- synthesizer music. The latter he arrived at already with his 1976 "Katharsis". Since then I only knew of his 1979 album "Idee fixe" until I found this album in Warszawa this summer. "Terra Deflorata" is another all-synthesizer album. The album I think of when hear it is Geoff Downes's (of Buggles, Yes and Asia) "The Light Program". The two albums have a lot in common. I often find all-machine music like this sterile, And this is true for Both albums, even if They have some enjoyable melodies. But there is one difference that's Advantage Niemen: Niemen is not only a keyboardist, most of all he is Also a singer, a good singer. "Terra deflorata" has Both vocal and instrumental numbers, but it is the vocal numbers That Brings Life to the album, and Which makes it deserve it a rating. Erland Sommarskog

Foje-Žodžiai į Tyla (1990)

Lithuania,Vilnus/Vilnius 1989/1990

1983 saw the emergence of one of the most famous, influential and popular Lithuanian rock groups, Foje. The group cited several influences, including the sound of The Stranglers, as well as the 1980s post-punk movement (for example the notable nod to Depeche Mode on Foje's 1990 electronica album Žodžiai į Tylą). These influences were combined with the often gloomy, desperate lyrics of the band's mastermind Andrius Mamontovas.
Foje became stars of national importance in 1986 after their appearance in the festival Lituanica 86 and a musical movie Kažkas Atsitiko. The group retained their star status until their split in 1997. Their farewell show in Vilnius on May 17, 1997, was attended by some 60,000 fans. Frontman Andrius Mamontovas pursues a successful solo career to this day. During his two-decade career both as a leader of Foje and as a solo artist he has written and recorded more than 20 platinum albums, as well as masterminding the 2006 Eurovisoin entry 'We are the Winners'.

What Recipe Does Buddy Use For Fondant

Kyuss-... And The Circus Leaves Town (1995)

USA,Kaff Palm Desert CA 1995

This album completes the legendary trilogy alongside the other classics 'Welcome to Sky Valley' and 'Blues For the Red Sun'. With this album, their last full length, Kyuss alter their sound and style slightly, creating a deeper and lower guitar tone and generally slower tempos. The result is a huge moody monolith of an album that sweeps aside thousands of other 'stoner' bands. '...And The Circus Leaves Town' is a fine way for Kyuss to wave goodbye after a truly legendary and tragically short-lived career. 'Hurricane' boots things off in short and sweet rocking style. It's a fun rocker, but a rather mediocre start to the album when considering the immediately engulfing openers from their past albums. But this I found would be the style of the album, it is a slow burner, gradually progressing and weaving. 'One Inch Man' is another short and sharp track, but this time the band creates a more subtle and sophisticated song. Homme's guitar paying especially shines on this with some very cool and almost psychedelic guitar effects, complemented by the classic John Garcia raspy vocal delivery. Generally John's vocals are less in the mix with this album when compared to previous releases, taking a seat behind Homme's guitar playing, which is at its all time best. The album really picks up when 'Phototropic' begins. This song shows a new side to Kyuss - a moodier, more melancholic sound with a slow, brooding build up leading to the desperate croons of John singing 'under light I have never seen/reach up to the sun'. 'El Rodeo' continues the moodier, atmospheric style, once again building to huge walls of sound and John's emotionally packed vocals. Often seen as a two-song piece, it remains a highlight of Kyuss' career. 'Tangy Tizzle' starts the closing of the album. It is the best closing in Kyuss' career, and simply one of the best in metal and rock history. Personally I feel the last four tracks on this album create the pinnacle to Kyuss' short-lived career. After the heavy and fun rocker of 'Tangy Tizzle', something more similar to 'Blues For The red Sun' style, 'Size Queen' delivers one of Kyuss' best songs. Striking me as a combination of the 'Sky Valley' structure of verse/chorus (something the band generally get away from on this album, most of the songs just flow into different sections), and the newer moody, brooding guitar tone this album introduces. Then 'Catamaran' hits the listener with its sheer beauty. Calming yet highly melancholic, it makes for great reflective listening, recalling all sorts of feelings depending on your mood - sometimes it feels very lonely and vast, sometimes it's a cool summers breeze with a refreshing 'cool air'. Whatever it evokes, it is a masterpiece of simplicity. 'Spaceship Landing' comes crashing in with its bellowing drums and dirty sounding guitars. Starting off like a straight-forward heavy rocker with angst-ridden lyrics about insecurity and drunkenness, the band then display their talents and exactly why they are the kings of the genre. A simply gigantic riff comes in, slowing the song down to a menacing, brutal pace. One of Homme's best riffs ever, and he knows it, he carries on, each bar like a sweeping body blow. Then once again the band change direction, a new riff is introduced, and again it's slow and powerful. And again...AGAIN they change things up; this time it's a psychedelic section full of dreamy vocals from John and slow, threatening build-up work. Then bang, back to the initial monster of a riff, putting a huge smile on my face and a wave of excitement and adrenaline every time. This song is such a tribute to the band's talents. Their ability to create simply amazing riffs and melodies - sharp direction changes - Complex Structures ... all in one epic track. I can not praise this enough closer. Quite simply
this is one of the best metal albums you will ever hear. I find it amazing some people call this Their worst effort, or even a 'boring' album. The quality of Musicianship is unbelievable, making stoner `other 'rip-offs look like dummies. Tom Clatworthy (London)

China

Warped By Success(1994)

After a four year absence, China Crisis are back. Was it worth the wait? No, I'm afraid it wasn't. I'd somehow assumed that the prolonged absence of Gary Daly and Eddie Lundon would, if nothing else, result in their first album on their new label being chock-full of China Crisis classics. _Warped By Success_ falls short of this mark, however, and may even be the group's weakest album to date. Don't get me wrong, it's not actually a bad album. It has, however, taken the China Crisis sound to an extreme, resulting in an album that's so laid-back it's finally fallen over, and so light and wispy it washes over you without making any real impact. There aren't any truly outstanding tracks of the calibre of "Black Man Ray", "Christian", "Wishful Thinking" or even "St. Saviour's Square". The current single, "Everyday The Same" is about the only track with enough of a backbone to stand up on its own. The sound of the album veers sharply between tracks that are unmistakably
China Crisis songs with their characteristic light synths, acoustic guitar and wispy vocals, and material that takes the band into new territory through the use of more contemporary dance beats.
"Hands On The Wheel" does not get proceedings off to a good start though, since the combination of sax and female backing vocals steers the track in a commercial light jazz direction that recalls the more negative aspects of Walter Becker's production on their last album. "Always" is more typically China Crisis, and that's about all that can be said about it. I've already reviewed "Everyday The Same", so there's no need to cover that one in any detail. In short, it's China Crisis with a more contemporary yet still terminally laid-back dance beat.
"Without The Love" recalls the China Crisis of old rather better than anything else so far and has a pleasant melody, as well as a distinctive bassline courtesy of ex-member Gazza Johnson. "Thank You" is a little different - it sounds almost like The Beautiful South in places - and has a distinctive "Da-rum da-do da-do" refrain in the chorus. "Hard To Be Around" is back on more familiar territory, although it does possess a sampled beat that sounds oddly out of place underneath the familiar ingredients of the China Crisis sound. "One Wish Too Many" is a short but pleasant and typically subdued instrumental. "Wishing Time" progresses from a truly ghastly intro (wailing divas repeating "Heaven") into something slightly dancy and up-tempo. The female backing vocals fit the rest of the track rather better, it's got the slightly Becker-ish vibe that the previous album had, plus some interesting synth work. Pretty good all round, even if it's a little too "white soul". Good Again" is another slightly up-tempo number, although it's fairly typical China Crisis. "Real Tears" has another one of those dance beats plus some interesting and rather atypical synth work. "Does It Pay" is pleasant enough but largely disposable. The final track, "The Way We Are Made" is a tribute to Derek Jarman and is a standard China Crisis track whose only unusual feature is a backdrop of birdsong. It's very relaxing and decent enough listening, but then so is most of the rest of the album.
Warped By Success is, overall, a disappointment. There's not much that's wrong with the album, but there's very little that's new and there's a definite lack of strong songs. True, there's always been a danger of that with the fragile China Crisis sound, but their previous albums have all had at least one outstanding single that set off the other tracks nicely. Existing fans who liked _Diary Of A Hollow Horse_ will still probably want to give this a listen - it's not that inferior to its predecessor - but those unfamiliar with the group would be advised to try a stronger early album such as _Flaunt The Imperfection_ or pick up one of the excellent compilations that exist. As it is, this album looks like being one of those releases that'll be represented by a single song ("Everyday The Same") on any future compilation. I've also got to briefly mention the artwork - while Gary Daly's "clumsy instruments" inside the lyrics booklet are fun, the cover art has a cheap look to it that suggests a budget label compilation rather than a full album. A shame that, since first impressions count.
